And so it begins....

I'm not your average farm girl....probably far from it.  I grew up in the country on 100 acres.  We had chickens, cows, a horse, pigs, a turkey named Tom, dogs, and numerous litters of kittens.  Mostly, we had pets!  My dad made his living as a well driller.  There were no pivots or irrigation pipes to contend with.  My dad would plant a crop of dry-land wheat and our cows/horse kept it mowed down.  I raised my older children about 5 miles down the road from my childhood home!   They also enjoyed a home in the country!

Fast forward several years.  I met my husband in 2006 and we soon had blended a family of 8 children.  It wasn't long before my heart yearned for that country lifestyle I once knew.  City living was not all that!  It might be convenient, but it was sure missing some things!  My husbands profession is that of a mechanic and used car salesman.  It took very little convincing to get my husband to consider a little home in the country.  You will soon learn my husband is a doer and a firm believer of go big or go home!  He had wanted a farm his whole life and now it felt like this might be the right time!

In 2010 we purchased a 91 acre irrigated ranch with a 4800 sq ft home (and 3 rental houses)!  Wowsa....what were we thinking lol!   Farm life just became a reality!   We of course being new "farmers" (much like new money) bought horses and chickens and cows and goats and started haying....all in the same day!   Well.....we have learned a lot and still have plenty to learn!  Oh yeah did I mention we added 2 more children to the bunch?  Yep that makes ten ranging in age from 4 to 32.

Welcome to our amazing life!  So glad you stopped by!  Hope you'll be back soon so we can get more aquatinted!
